Hi all,
I know that Windows is not that widely used for HPC. How well
is it's support tested in Charm++? In particular:
1) what Windows versions are expected to work? Anything newer
than Win98?
Most versions of windows are supported, including Windows HPC cluster See the nightly build list for the combinations we maintain. http://charm.cs.illinois.edu/autobuild/cur/ 2) what networks are expected to work? Only net (UDP)? What
about MPI?
Both net and MPI are supported. 3) Are all standard tests expected to pass?
Yes. 4) in general, how much pain should I expect when trying to
run Charm++ on Windows cluster?
Should work fine on HPC Cluster. If you want to build it yourself you will need to VC++ or Cygwin, binaries are available for the targets in our nightly test suite. Thanks for your help!
