It looks like at 32/64-bit issue. Maude 2.4 is not 64-bit clean, and I think this issue still exists even in Maude 2.6 on Macs. It's fixed alpha96a onwards so 64-bit on Mac will be supported when we release 2.7. Until then you should be able to compile as a 32-bit binary.
