OOPSLA is delighted to announce the availability of scholarships
for educators from 2- and 4-year colleges to attend OOPSLA 2004
and its Educators' Symposium. These scholarships are sponsored
by the Association of Computing Machinery (ACM) Special Interest
Group on Programming Languages (SIGPLAN).
Scholarship recipients receive:
- Registration to the OOPSLA 2004 conference.
- Registration to the OOPSLA 2004 Educators' Symposium.
- Registration to 1 full-day tutorial, or 2 half-day tutorials,
at the conference.
- Reimbursement for transportation and accommodation expenses
up to a maximum of $600 (within North America) or $900
(outside of North America).
This year's Educators Symposium offers an exciting program aimed
at helping OO educators and trainers do their jobs better. We
are honored this year to have as our keynote speaker the 2003
Turing Award winner, Dr. Alan Kay! We also have a strong
selection of paper presentations, nifty assignments, posters
and software demos, group activities, and a teaching games
session led by Steve Metsker and Bill Wake.
To learn more about the scholarships, please visit the Educators
Symposium's call for submissions at:
http://www.oopsla.org/EducatorsSymposium
... and click on "Educator Scholarships". There, you'll find
a link to details on the Educator Scholarship program and
information about how to apply.
Be sure to come back to the http://www.oopsla.org/ on June 14
to see the Educators Symposium program, as well as the rest of
the advance program for OOPSLA 2004.
We encourage you to join us for OOPSLA this fall in Vancouver!
