General talk about software patterns

     You have probably heard the slogan: "ChiliPLoP: A different kind 
of PLoP."
     (Probably from Linda Rising!)  But how is it different?

     ChiliPLoP is organized around a set of Hot Topics, which are small
     workshops of 4-8 people.  Each Hot Topic is just that, a topic of
     current interest.  ChiliPLoP gives folks a chance to get together
     in a great working environment -- the Lutheran Retreat Center in
     Carefree, Arizona -- for several days of intense, deeply satisfying
     work on a hot topic.  Each Hot Topic's participants share an
     interest in patterns and in the topic, so you have an opportunity
     to forge new collaborations while making concrete progress on the
     project at hand.

     But ChiliPLoP is different not just in its content, but in its
     entirety.  The conference offers an environment of creativity and
     relaxed intensity.

     We currently have three Hot Topics on the books:

     - "Design for Maintainability - Maintainability by Design"
     - "Elementary Patterns and their Role in Instruction"
     - "Patterns of XML"

     ... with a fourth Hot Topic (Security Patterns) still in process.
