Since most members of the accel group were on vacation the past week and I do not see much progress in TMS, let's cancel this week's meeting.

As a reminder, if you are thinking of pursuing accelerator-related work for your thesis, by next week's meeting you need to:

1. Read two papers from the past two years relating to accelerator work in HPC
2. Work a minimum of additional 5 hours on your current accel projects and log your hours in TMS

I strongly recommend putting in more effort week-to-week on your thesis topic (the 5 hours per week is a minimum). Your thesis work will probably require at least 1500 - 2000 hours of work, and you do not want to be cramming most of that into your last year. Also, from personal experience, the longer you work on a topic, the more interesting and impactful the research will become. This means that you may need a good couple years of solid work until you start seeing the fruits of your labors. You do not want to be in a position where you run out of time to claim the rewards for your work.

I was planning on joining via Skype as well with little to report. I just spoke with Eric and he is in a similar situation. Perhaps we should cancel the meeting?

I'll be joining over Skype today.  I have little to report that was not already reported at last week's group meeting.
